Q & A -- Session Nine w/ Savannah

Question and Answer Series
Session 9  –  Savannah, author of The Very Best of Friends

Author, Savannah
Q            As a writer do you prefer using a pen name or real name? Why?
A     I use my real name, so my writing is linked to myself directly.
Q            Which genre do you normally write? Are you comfortable going out of your comfort zone?

A    I'll write any genre of poetry, except erotica and fan fiction. I enjoy leaving my comfort zone and trying new styles and forms.
Q            How old are you? Male or female?
A     I am a fifteen year old female.
Q            Do you like cats or dogs?
.
A    Cats.
Q            Tell me something about you that no one else knows.

A    When I am home alone and want to write, I blare music and tape paper up on my walls. Then I dance around and write on the paper.
Q            Are you married, dating, or single? If you’re married or dating; have you ever cheated on your spouse or significant other? If you’re single; do you like to play the field?
A    Dating, and never.
Q            Have you ever contemplated suicide? If so, why did you feel that was your only option?
A      Nope. The thought has never crossed my mind. Not directly, I suppose. Watching the ground from a tall building, I think how much it would hurt if you were to jump off. Taking A Tylenol, I wonder what would happen if you were to ingest maybe eight or so. But I've never actually thought of myself doing it.
Q            Have you ever been in trouble in school? At work? At home?

A     But of course! No one can stay out of trouble.
Q            Did you have siblings growing up? If so, how many?
A    I have one younger brother.
Q            Did you have siblings later in life? If so, how many and at what age did you get them? Were they adopted?
A   I still only have that one brother, and I doubt I'll be getting any more siblings.
Q            Where do you get your inspiration?

A     Anything and everything. Clouds, a sandwich, my friends. Anything.
Q            How do your approach your writing? Are more OCD? Plan everything out with outlines and what amounts to storyboards? Or do you just fly by the seat of your pants and work everything out as it comes?
A     Well, writing novels, I believe it's best to write out your plot beginning middle and end, so you don't get off topic. Novels are long pieces, and it often happens. Poetry, though, I don't really do any planning.
Q            Do you like horror movies? Comedy? Pick your poison.
A     I love horror movies, just not too gory. I like any kind of movies per se, but nothing too boring, gory, or raunchy.
Q            Do you enjoy certain types of books, but like to write in another genre? If so, why?
A     Well I've never actually finished a book. I've always trashed them. The one I have posted on this site is the one I'm going to try to continue. Like I said, I'll write in any genre except erotica and fan fiction. I'm definitely going to try to not take my book down the typical frilly teenage romance road, but it will have some romance in it. Really, it's a mixture of a bunch of genres.
Q            What are you currently working on? Do you have any novels?
A     Poetry comes spontaneously to me. The only thing I'm steadily working on right now is my novel, The Very Best Of Friends.
Q            Anything else that you would like to say before we end?
A     Nothing that I can think of...
