Question and Answer Series
Author, The Lonestar
Session 6  –  The Lonestar, author of Dragonfaerie

Q            As a writer do you prefer using a pen name or real name? Why?
A     I write with both. As Christopher A. Cooke, I write YA Fantasy, Satire, and a few other things. As Allan Nim, I write Erotica.
Q            Which genre do you normally write? Are you comfortable going out of your comfort zone?
A     I write an just about any genre except, perhaps, romance. Not that I'm opposed to it. I've just not found a call to do so.
Q            How old are you? Male or female?
A    I am a 35 year old man. Stress on the "old." It's not the years...it's the mileage.
Q            Do you like cats or dogs?
A    I like both, but prefer dogs. However, I currently own cats. And fish. And birds.
Q            Tell me something about you that no one else knows.
A     If no one else knows it, there's probably a reason. ;)
Q            Are you married, dating, or single? If you’re married or dating; have you ever cheated on your spouse or significant other? If you’re single; do you like to play the field?
A     I'm unsure what this has to do with writing, but I'm divorced and single. I've never cheated on my spouse or significant other.
Q            Have you ever contemplated suicide? If so, why did you feel that was your only option?
A     I did. Twice. And the reasons are complicated.
Q            Have you ever been in trouble in school? At work? At home?
A     I once staged a walk out in college to protest a teacher.
Q            Did you have siblings growing up? If so, how many?
A     Two brothers and a sister
Q            Did you have siblings later in life? If so, how many and at what age did you get them? Were they adopted?
A      I gained an adult sister and brother about 5 years ago. My father remarried.
Q            Where do you get your inspiration?
A     Life. My life is so screwy that I don't have to make anything up.
Q            How do your approach your writing? Are more OCD? Plan everything out with outlines and what amounts to storyboards? Or do you just fly by the seat of your pants and work everything out as it comes?
A     I work off an outline and a story base as a guideline, and then let the work grow organically.
Q            Do you like horror movies? Comedy? Pick your poison.
A     I like most genre of film.
Q            Do you enjoy certain types of books, but like to write in another genre? If so, why?
A    I write in just about everything.
Q            What are you currently working on? Do you have any novels?
A     My first novel, "Dragonfaerie", was published by Reliquary Press March 2011. I'm currently working the sequel, "Emperor of Stone", which should be out soon.
Q            Anything else that you would like to say before we end?
A    To all the writers out there.....read! Read everything!
