What Inspires Me

What Inspires Me

I’ve been asked by friends and family what inspires me to write. The answer to that question is simple. Just about everything!
Certain songs inspire me: Skin (SaraBeth), He Ain’t the Leavin’ Kind, Shakin’ Hands, and much more. Certain singers inspire me: Rascal Flatts, Garth Brooks, Nickelback, and Melissa Etheridge among others. The sunset, sunrise and just nature in general. Pictures.
A conversation with my husband or an collaborative idea from my 7 year old nieces. But where I get most of my ideas are from my dreams.
Many of my short stories and novels have started out as dreams. The Delta Files are a combination of an old series I wrote and a dream. Dreamland Theater was based on a dream. Life and Death came about because I was playing a video game. Sai and Endless Soul are because I had dreams about them. Especially Endless Soul The dream was so vivid it was like I’d lived it.
Not every dream I have becomes a short story or novel. I have too many dreams for that. No I tend to write the ones that don’t go away. The ones that keep nagging at me for more than a day. The same thing with the random ideas that pop into my head or songs that inspire me, if I feel that way a couple days later then I try to write it down.
My poetry is usually inspired by a song or something I see or feel. Like most poetry. Some of it comes from the heart. Some of it comes from the brain. Either way, it comes.
This is going to be a short blog.
            More tomorrow.

SCAM

SCAM!
I want everyone to be aware of a scam. They will say that they would like your lawyer’s information and tell you that there is a warrant out for your arrest. All they will say after that is that someone used your social security number to take out a payday loan and never pay it back.
THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU ANYTHING ELSE!!
The number has a 760 area code.
If you see a number with that area that you don’t know, don’t answer. Then call your phone company and have them block the number.

Latest Blog

Last night I started putting together my new poetry collection, Egotisitical Mama which includes the first chapter of Life and Death, and my new short story collection, A Perfectly Secret Affair, which includes the first two chapters of Dreamland Theater.
I know that getting the two collections together is going to take time and hopefully Addyson will let me focus on Life and Death, Dreamland Theater, and the many more novels I have to complete. I’ve set a goal for myself to have both Dreamland and Life done by the end of fall. That gives me, four months? I think, to get them done. In between I will work on The Delta Files and any short stories and poems that come up.
The latest poems: Pink Haired Girl, Tear Stained Pillow, I Told You So, The Truth is Out There, Growing Old, Being, Deadly Sisters, Day at the Beach, P-A-R-T-Y Time!, Punishment, Helping Hands, and Fishing in the Dark; are all picture prompts on the writing website that I belong to. So is the latest short story Crimson Lips. I enjoyed working on them and will be going back to the Picture Prompts! group and hopefully getting more of each!
        That’s all for now.

The Picture Prompt Blog (Blogger Exclusive) Kidding

Pink Haired Girl

Crazy images for a girl with pink hair
Interesting thoughts as the boy
Licks the pizza
On her leg
Alien like fish swirl around
Happy thoughts
For the girl
With pink hair

Tear Stained Pillow

I look at you through veiled eyes

As my tears stain my pillow
My tears of orange and yellow
Blue and green
I long for you
But you’re long gone
My thoughts of you
Now fall
To my tear stained pillow

I Told You So
I told you to duck
I told you to move
I warned you I was gonna
Toss that hammer
You shouldn't be so surprised
I told you so

The Trust is Out There

The solider looks on
As children play nearby
He should be shocked
By what he sees
Yet he is not
As the kids play
With their ‘guns’
The boys line the kids up
Thankfully to them
Its only a game

Growing Old
Growing up is never easy
There is pain and sorrow
Love and hate
Highs and lows
Losses and gains

For the first years of our lives
We’re alone
No one to share it with
No one to be there

For the last half of our lives
If we’re lucky
We’re not alone
There’s always someone there
To share it with
There’s always someone there
Just to be

We look all our lives for
Someone to
Grow old with

Being

I shouldn’t have been born this way
I’m a guy
Just like any other
But I love
To dress up
In women’s clothes
I believe in God
So why didn’t he make me
The way I was supposed to be
Why did he make me a boy
When clearly
I’m a girl

I’ve seen
What others
Have gone through
Why must we
When this could have
Been remedied
Before we came to be

Why God why?

Deadly Sisters

We’re a pair
Of deadly sisters
Two halves of a whole
One is tall
While the other is short
Both have blond hair
Both with silver eyes

One of us has short hair
Whereas the other has long hair
We both love long sleeves
One prefers hand to hand
While the other can use any weapon to kill you
Yep
We’re a pair of deadly sisters
No one will stand in our way

Day at the Beach

Today I wore
A LBD (little black dress)
To the beach

Why?
It was overcast
I thought it would help
Make the day
Better
I swam out

Just a little bit
Sat on a rock
Just like the Little Mermaid

The wind blew my hair
Every which way
I sat and pondered

During my
Day
At the beach

P-A-R-T-Y Time!

Walking down the beach
The waves crashing over my
Feet
The balloons sway
And bob
As the wind rushes by
Headed to a party
Hopefully there’s music
A fire
And more

Time to party
On the beach

Maybe I’ll hook up
With the captain
Of the football team

Punishment
Because I was a bad man
I was punished
The Gods
Gave me sores
All over my body
It seemed they were even
On my clothes

I killed many
Saved none

I still don’t
Get what the fuss was about
I was born evil

Isn’t the Gods
Fault?

Why am I being punished?

What should their punishment be?

Helping Hands
I saw a sight
Something I never thought
I’d see

I was at the zoo
And I was walking
By the panda exibit

Didn’t want to stop
I never should have come
Visiting a zoo
While it’s snowing
Who knew?

What a sight to behold
To panda cubs
One was holding
The other up
So it could
Climb a little post

What a sight

Fishing in the Dark

Children beware!
When you’re fishing
In the dark
There is a lake
A deadly lake

Stay away!
There are
Monsters
Lurking

Be aware!
Be warned!
Stay AWAY!

He’s just

Waiting for you
Now
Waiting for you
To
Drop that
Line in

CHILDREN BEWARE!!
While fishing i
n the dark

All the Latest

All the Latest

I recently started a new book to work on while I’m working on Dreamland Theater and it’s been interesting. I got the idea from playing a game and so far the book is going well, I think. The idea is simple: What would you do if your life wasn’t your own? You can thank the Sims for this novel idea; though whether it’s a novel or a novella, I haven’t decided just yet. The title is Life and Death.
I’m also thinking of creating another Trea Bella-Donna novella. Something to do with her trial and life behind bars; Trea Bella-Donna: Life Behind Bars, what do you think? Or a subplot in the full novel in The Delta Files series. Don’t worry, Trea isn’t getting her own series, but a couple of people have expressed an interest in what it would be like for her behind bars and to see how her trial goes.
I was even thinking of going back and giving a couple of the other killers a novella of their own. Or at least future killers. I just don’t know yet. I want to get through the Life and Death and Dreamland Theater before I pick up the pen and work on anything from The Delta Files series, but that may prove harder to do than I thought.
This series is proving to be quite the adventure. When I was writing The Marissa Chronicles by the time I was this far into that series, I was having a hard time coming up with story ideas. With The Delta Files series I’m not having that trouble. I wonder why that is. Maybe it’s because these characters, while as demanding as Marissa was, are content that I am thinking of future plots and ideas. Maybe, just maybe, they will let me do what I need to do.
Something else I’ve decided to do is reviews. I’ll get more into that in my next blog though.
* * *
Work has been interesting lately. On Monday I had to work a double shift. Well, 15 hours instead of 16, but still. That was nice. I’ve never worked 16 hours before and while I was tired, I wasn’t. if that makes any sense at all. I was surprised I didn’t have an accident on the way home, because I was that tired. However, once I walked into the house, I didn’t want to go to bed! Crazy.
On Wednesday night the printer at work went out so my fellow auditor couldn’t do his work. Then another co-worker decided to print everything out once the printer was working. It’s nice that she tried to help, but she should have just let me handle it.
The other auditor didn’t even SEPARATE anything! I had to do it. I was late getting my work done because I had to finish his. Pain in the ass.
Today I had to refund $150 because he decided to prepay two rooms that’s not something that is normally done unless there is cash or an online reservation involved. I left a note that we shouldn’t do that anymore. The refund is the reason we don’t usually do a prepay.
Then there’s the pet peeve that I have about people who don’t have all of their receipts. My job is to make sure that everyone else is doing their job. Each monetary transaction needs to have its own receipt, but no one does that. I need all cash, check, and credit card receipts to be on their own. It makes doing the audit easier. If each has it’s own receipt then I don’t miss anything.
I guess that’s part of being a Virgo. We tend to be detail orientated.

     That’s it for now.
Thanks

Review of Eternal Light

Eternal Light Review

Eternal Light is written by Layla J Omorose and is amazingly brilliant. Below is her decription of the novel:
He walked in eternal darkness...Until she came and sparked his desire. Now the first of the Trinity must claim his mate or risk unleashing hell on Earth...
Check out her blog:  http://jthomas121088.blogspot.com/
The eldest of three, Radien, Trinityhound of Life is haunted by the mistakes he's made, mistakes that have ripped his family apart. After years of living in self imposed exile far away from a tragic past. He is forced to me it face to face. Not only to protect a world that is blind to a truth better left alone, but to find the one thing that can him to his knees... His destined mate, a woman whose very touch makes him pant from desire...

Her dreams made flash...

As the owner of her own publishing company, Melody Sonders has all she could ever want. Strong and confident she believed she had control over everything in her life...Except love. Heartbroken she has sword off the male species...Until the man of her dreams appears and turns her world upside down. Heart stopping gorgeous and clearly bad of her health, he sparks her wildest desires and brings out the animal in her...

How do you fight a passion that electrifies the soul?
Together they must find a way past their insecurities and come together to stop the beast that hunts them or forever walk in eternal darkness...
Layla makes her characters jump off the screen and they become engrained in your mind. She has interwoven sex, danger, and the Ancient Greek gods into one amazingly written piece of work. From her descriptions of each character to her descriptions of the surroundings of her characters it’s like you’re there with them.
This is a must read for anyone interested in mythology, in any form.
To Layla, keep up the great work!
Thank you

Work Rant

Tonight has been was f***ked up night.
First off (this part I don’t mind) I had to come into work 7 hours early to cover for my co-worker who graduated. Way to go on that!
Second I back into my cousin’s car, which was only paint transfer and a couple scratches. Looks like a bunch of carts got away from someone really, so no big deal. I get the shift report from Michael and he goes home. Then I get stuck dealing with a LARGE group of people that have no RESPECT for anyone else. They get in people’s way. They’re noisy and very rude. They keep yelling at one another and WON’T GO TO BED!! It’s 3 fucking AM in the morning. Even the little babies are still awake. Plus they are SMOKING in NON-SMOKING rooms and who knows if we’ll get the full payment from them.
I know that any business is good, but when you feel like you’re gonna get bit in the ass, chances are you will.
I three complaints from one of the rooms and had to comp their neighbor their stay for tonight. THEN they went into the workout room and were messing with the equipment  WHILE SOMEONE ON THE MACHINE and now they keep saying that the soda and vending machines aren’t working. So I had my co-worker put up out of order signs on all of them.
They keep making messes and it’s nuts.
In other news I’m tired as hell and am ending this now.

Thanks

Fake Release

I am excited to say that my latest novel Fake is now available! You can find it on Amazon (in paperback & Kindle formats) as well as Lulu (paperback & hardcover). The book has been really interesting to write. Difficult at times and easy at others
Please enjoy and look for the next installment Trea Bella-Donna which is Fake told from the killer’s point of view.
I will be taking a break from the Delta Files series (hopefully) for at least two books. I feel comfortable doing this as I have the next three books in the series planned out (general plot lines). I also have friends giving me ideas. Like one who mentioned that I should do a second Trea novel and what her life is like behind bars plus her trial. I’m thinking that in one of the next novels that the latter will be a subplot. Probably towards the middle of the next book.
TO WRITERS CAFÉ: I am so grateful to those of you that have read and commented on the chapters I’ve posted. It means so much to me that you’ve taken the time to read my work. For those of you that have read my stuff and that I’ve promised to read yours, don’t worry, I will. It just takes me a little more time. I have days set aside to read. Usually Sundays and Mondays. That way I have three of the five days that I work to write.
          That’s all.
          Thank you.

Fake and Stuff

Fake & Trea
Working on finishing up Fake and getting pretty well done. I think by tonight or tomorrow night I should have it completely finished. I’ve been working on it all night and I started on chapter 37 and I’m now at chapter 39, which I know doesn’t sound like much, but when you consider that fact that I’m also at work and doing other things, it’s quite a lot actually.
I’m tossing a lot of emotional scenes into these last few chapters. Outlining Addyson’s plans for Trea and her capture. I already have  the last THREE chapters written. Right now they are labeled 43, 44, and 45. We’ll see how they really end up labeled. I was asked to make the book at least 50 chapters long. I don’t know if I can get that many chapters, but who knows.
I do think that Trea will end up being a short novel. I’ll have to work hard to keep it in the same notebook as the rest, but I know I can do it. Even if I have to get loose paper and paper clip it in there; wouldn’t be the first time. It shouldn’t take too long to get Trea finished. Most of the work is already done. At least the parts where it crosses over with Fake; I just have to change the point of view and that I can do.

Other Stuff
I’ve been trying to figure out which novel I want to work on next. Below is a list of current projects in progress.
1.   Sai – The story of Sai. Of how she became a vampire and deals with the raising the child she had given up to he parents to raise.
2.   Dreamland Theater – Marie has a dream. To bring her childhood theater back to its former glory; however, a maniac is making that impossible! Someone keeps entering the theater and killing anyone that crosses his or her path. Now the theater is sinking and sinking fast. Marie needs to find out who the killer is before her Dreamland theater becomes a Nightmare.
3.   Twelve Months – (Tagline-à) Six couples, twelve months, one amazing story. (Description -à) Garnet and her eleven friends have been told they all belonged together, but they could never be in one place together for too long or something bad would happen. They never said that they couldn’t mate, hell, the twelve of them were destined to mate amongst each other. But Garnet and her friends were told that one night in the distant future they would all come together and it would change everything. Forever.
4.   A Perfectly Secret Affair (short story collection)
5.   Egotistical Mama (poetry collection)
6.   Endless Soul – Many have questioned that we are reborn. That we have not one, but many lives. The lives of these women proves it. The soul starts out as Circe Yannis of Ancient Greece. She's married to a wonderful man named Adonis until one day her life changes. It continues to Ancient Persia in the form of young Amari Mandana. There she encounters numerous hardships. From Ancient Persia to Ireland. There is Aislin Quinlain. She lives long and has a very happy life. In Italy, Italia Nico has it easy. She comes from a long line of aristocrats and has the attitude and money to prove it. Scotland brings Marnie Dougal and her trip on the infamous Titanic. Finally in modern America, Pennsylvania Wylie and how she comes to find the connection between herself and these extraordinary women.
I could take any one of these and continue to work on it. But with the muse wanting to focus solely on The Delta Files and Addyson it makes it hard. I already have the next THREE novels titles and covers! Below are the titles and descriptions (in order).
1.   Suicide Killer – There's a serial killer stalking Vancouver and Detective Addyson Delta is powerless stop him or her. This killer is the worst of all, because it's not like any other she's ever faced.  The killer will make you believe there is no murder.  Be careful because you could be the next Victim of the Suicide Killer.
2.   Coroner Someone is trying to turn the police against the coroners and it's not working. The psycho is torturing people by giving them autopsies; while they're alive!  Addyson and her team are forced to investigate the Medical Examiner's office while they bring in new people until the case is solved.  Could Delia or Sapphire really be killers?  Or is someone setting them up?
3.   Highway 500 – A maniac is stalking the highways and side streets of Vancouver. He or she tortures the woman and kills the men right off. The medical examiners and officers are stumped. Can they solve this before it happens again?
Don’t get me wrong, I love Addyson, but everyone needs a break from their main focus once in awhile.
I guess time will tell.

Thanks for now.
