Q & A -- Session Eleven w/ quarintine_deathangel

Question and Answer Series
Session 11  –  quarintine_deathangel, author of Paranatural

Q            As a writer do you prefer using a pen name or real name? Why?
Author, quarintine_deathangel
A   I use a penname because it relates to one of my major writings, Paranatural, and I personally enjoy acting/ role playing, so I find it fun to go under penname. Also using your real name could make people judge you and not your writing or judge you only by your writing.
Q            Which genre do you normally write? Are you comfortable going out of your comfort zone?
A     I have certain genres I agree with and ones I don't, I usually stay within, what's inspiring me, my life, or stranger than fiction horror, with a bit of gore if I can. I find it interesting to twist average thought or go deep into what legends were like or where they came from. Writing Raggedy Ann's Doll House has brought me a little out of my comfort zone in writing since it's further in the mental gore aspect than what I'm used to.
Q            How old are you? Male or female?
A     Age is not available, and I'm female which is kind of obvious in my profile and throughout my writing.
Q            Do you like cats or dogs?
A    I like dogs more than cats, cats are gonna take over the world some day. XDD
Q            Tell me something about you that no one else knows.
A    If I had the chance, and Kiro was human, I would totally marry him. XD
Q            Are you married, dating, or single? If you’re married or dating; have you ever cheated on your spouse or significant other? If you’re single; do you like to play the field?
A    I'm not even a romantic personality. I've had crushes that's about it. My dream guy is a dark/ death angel so kind of impossible. And never dated, I might have considerably flirted with one crush before. That's it.
Q            Have you ever contemplated suicide? If so, why did you feel that was your only option?
A      I have contemplated suicide, just to think about why other people would do it and see the world in their way, and of course I've had days where I've wanted to feel soo bad I want to give up. But I blow it off because I've learned it to be twice as heroic and difficult to live than die, and I want to be the best person possible, in God's eyes too.
Q            Have you ever been in trouble in school? At work? At home?
A     All three, chewed gum in the principles office once, not realizing it XD also I've done a million things at home. At work I do what I'm told and get by without problems and suck up and deal with any problems I have.
Q            Did you have siblings growing up? If so, how many?
A    I did have sibling rivalry many times. How many is confidential, sorry dude. XD
Q            Did you have siblings later in life? If so, how many and at what age did you get them? Were they adopted?
A    doesn't apply
Q            Where do you get your inspiration?
A     Spiritually, from dreams, daily life, adventure, learning, considering, google images, all kinds of ways, but that's the majority of it.
Q            How do your approach your writing? Are more OCD? Plan everything out with outlines and what amounts to storyboards? Or do you just fly by the seat of your pants and work everything out as it comes?
A     I have a storyboard for Paranatural and usually I consider what the plot could lead to and take the best turn according to genre, clisheness or popularity. I have mostly free written poems since I feel more expression is in free written handwritten than formatted and typed.
Q            Do you like horror movies? Comedy? Pick your poison.
A     I love gory horror movies because I can watch how they do special effects and makeup and it interests me. I've also watched many pixar movies I love and disney has a few good ones. I don't care at all for the notebook or others in the genre. They're too saddening and emotional. I'm a complete sucker for adventure movies and especially action movies, fast and furious and gone in sixty seconds<remake> are epic movies to me XD
Q            Do you enjoy certain types of books, but like to write in another genre? If so, why?
A   I love animal books and J.R.R. Tolkein was a great writer, I've also read monster high and numerous fan fics on gotoquiz.com that I quite enjoyed. I loved reading Julie of the wolves and hated Julia so I stopped at the fifth chapter. I've read almost the whole original series of Sherlock Holmes and seen both movies with Robert Downing Jr. XD I've read some really good horror fictions too and love campfire stories, which is what Reflection of Self upon Molten Glass is made from.
Q            What are you currently working on? Do you have any novels?
A     The Untold series, Paranatural, my journal and a few poems I've come up with. Paranatural is going to become a novel.
Q            Anything else that you would like to say before we end?
A     Sure, I don't find writing as a job or consider any format for it, if I did it would be ten times harder. I freewrite mostly, and have a very creatively hyper and critical judgement personality on my own works. I consider myself a perky goth since I hold an interest to gothic culture and perky goth fashion especially. I also like to get read requests and emails. And I'm on facebook, the link is in my profile. I will be writing two forms of Paranatural, one of which is a book and another which almost takes place of fan fics and parts will be posted up on facebook and writers cafe, along with my other writings. My journal however is not going to be posted. Also, if any writers of horror fiction would have the time, I have open parts on Raggedy Ann's Doll House for writing.

Q & A -- Session Ten w/ Just Me

Question and Answer Series
Session 10  –  Just Me, author of Soul Bound

Author, Just Me
Q            As a writer do you prefer using a pen name or real name? Why?
A     I prefer to use my real name because people will know my real name and not a class one. It also gives me the ability to be myself completely. However on this site I use a pen name for Internet safety.
Q            Which genre do you normally write? Are you comfortable going out of your comfort zone?

A    To tell you the truth I don't write any particular genre unless generic fiction counts. I'll write anything except for non-fiction and I'll write it in any genre whether it be action/adventure or the supernatural/occult.
Q            How old are you? Male or female?
A     I'm fourteen and I'm a female.
Q            Do you like cats or dogs?
.
A    Dogs by far, though I love kittens. Kittens are different from cats because they are small, cute, and a lot more fun.
Q            Tell me something about you that no one else knows.

A    Something that no one else knows? That's a hard one but I think I've got one. Nobody knows that I have a lot of things to say about topics we discuss in class because I never speak up. Or if you don't like that one nobody except for my friends knows that I'm not just the brainiac in the school, I do have a fun personality.
Q            Are you married, dating, or single? If you’re married or dating; have you ever cheated on your spouse or significant other? If you’re single; do you like to play the field?
A    I'm single and no I don't really "play the field" as you put it. I mean I'll look to see if there's anyone good but I won't ever engage them in a conversation.
Q            Have you ever contemplated suicide? If so, why did you feel that was your only option?
A      I've never thought about suicide, though I did say that I was to be dramatic and get the attention of my parents.
Q            Have you ever been in trouble in school? At work? At home?
A     I've never gotten into trouble at school and don't have a job so that's out of the question. I've gotten in trouble at home; everybody does, but was never anything too serious.
Q            Did you have siblings growing up? If so, how many?
A    I have one sister.
Q            Did you have siblings later in life? If so, how many and at what age did you get them? Were they adopted?
A   I have one sister and she was born a year and a half after me.
Q            Where do you get your inspiration?

A     Really my inspiration comes from all over the place: things people say, songs, things I see, etc. In fact the inspiration behind my current novel came from a black marble and a white marble.
Q            How do your approach your writing? Are more OCD? Plan everything out with outlines and what amounts to storyboards? Or do you just fly by the seat of your pants and work everything out as it comes?
A     Depends on how I feel about the story. Sometimes I'll write an outline while other times I'll jump headfirst into the story I'm telling. Though I'm not sure which way works better for me.
Q            Do you like horror movies? Comedy? Pick your poison.
A     I love movies that have a mix of comedy, romance, action, and adventure. It's got to have all that to make it on my favorite movies list.
Q            Do you enjoy certain types of books, but like to write in another genre? If so, why?
A     I enjoy every type of book except for non-fiction, poetry, and realistic fiction. However I like to write really bad poetry because it helps me to vent my feelings. Typically I wrote any type of book and the writing often stems from the books I'm reading.
Q            What are you currently working on? Do you have any novels?
A     I'm currently working on three different novels however one of those three I don't think I'll be able to complete. My most recent project would be my novel "Soul Bound" which is still in the writing stage.
Q            Anything else that you would like to say before we end?
A     I dream of becoming a Bestselling author one day and I constantly come up with random ideas for them. Also the two people that have inspired me the most in life are my mom and my seventh grade language arts teacher.

Q & A -- Session Nine w/ Savannah

Question and Answer Series
Session 9  –  Savannah, author of The Very Best of Friends

Author, Savannah
Q            As a writer do you prefer using a pen name or real name? Why?
A     I use my real name, so my writing is linked to myself directly.
Q            Which genre do you normally write? Are you comfortable going out of your comfort zone?

A    I'll write any genre of poetry, except erotica and fan fiction. I enjoy leaving my comfort zone and trying new styles and forms.
Q            How old are you? Male or female?
A     I am a fifteen year old female.
Q            Do you like cats or dogs?
.
A    Cats.
Q            Tell me something about you that no one else knows.

A    When I am home alone and want to write, I blare music and tape paper up on my walls. Then I dance around and write on the paper.
Q            Are you married, dating, or single? If you’re married or dating; have you ever cheated on your spouse or significant other? If you’re single; do you like to play the field?
A    Dating, and never.
Q            Have you ever contemplated suicide? If so, why did you feel that was your only option?
A      Nope. The thought has never crossed my mind. Not directly, I suppose. Watching the ground from a tall building, I think how much it would hurt if you were to jump off. Taking A Tylenol, I wonder what would happen if you were to ingest maybe eight or so. But I've never actually thought of myself doing it.
Q            Have you ever been in trouble in school? At work? At home?

A     But of course! No one can stay out of trouble.
Q            Did you have siblings growing up? If so, how many?
A    I have one younger brother.
Q            Did you have siblings later in life? If so, how many and at what age did you get them? Were they adopted?
A   I still only have that one brother, and I doubt I'll be getting any more siblings.
Q            Where do you get your inspiration?

A     Anything and everything. Clouds, a sandwich, my friends. Anything.
Q            How do your approach your writing? Are more OCD? Plan everything out with outlines and what amounts to storyboards? Or do you just fly by the seat of your pants and work everything out as it comes?
A     Well, writing novels, I believe it's best to write out your plot beginning middle and end, so you don't get off topic. Novels are long pieces, and it often happens. Poetry, though, I don't really do any planning.
Q            Do you like horror movies? Comedy? Pick your poison.
A     I love horror movies, just not too gory. I like any kind of movies per se, but nothing too boring, gory, or raunchy.
Q            Do you enjoy certain types of books, but like to write in another genre? If so, why?
A     Well I've never actually finished a book. I've always trashed them. The one I have posted on this site is the one I'm going to try to continue. Like I said, I'll write in any genre except erotica and fan fiction. I'm definitely going to try to not take my book down the typical frilly teenage romance road, but it will have some romance in it. Really, it's a mixture of a bunch of genres.
Q            What are you currently working on? Do you have any novels?
A     Poetry comes spontaneously to me. The only thing I'm steadily working on right now is my novel, The Very Best Of Friends.
Q            Anything else that you would like to say before we end?
A     Nothing that I can think of...

Q & A -- Session Eight w/ Tate Morgan

Author, Tate Morgan

Question and Answer Series
Session 7  –  Tate Morgan, poetry author

Q            As a writer do you prefer using a pen name or real name? Why?
A     1. An avatar cannot legally hold copyright in the United States. I don't want to create all these poems only to give them to the public domain. 2. I want my great grandchildren to also be able to find and claim my digital works in the future. It's hard to find them without my name on them. 3. My Vanity lol It is my worst trait by far. I fight it everyday. I have trouble getting attached to anyone who is using an avatar. I need a face a real person to truly care for someone
Q            Which genre do you normally write? Are you comfortable going out of your comfort zone?

A   write metered rhyme poetry. I have written one poem in prose called My Dream. I do like it .But I like the feel of metered rhyme it plays like music in my head. I am not skilled enough in my opinion to write a novel or other long work. My attention span is too short.
Q            How old are you? Male or female?
A    When I started writing I was 47 yrs old. I was going through a terrible divorce and it gave me therapy. I am now remarried happily and 53 yrs old.
Q            Do you like cats or dogs?
.
A   Dogs for sure. When a man dies and he has a good dog that dog will lay on his grave and wail. They actually grieve over you. I think they are in every sense a lot like us. Except they always forgive your mistakes unlike humans
Q            Tell me something about you that no one else knows.

A   I am the 2nd child of 4. I have written 2 books and am working on the 3rd. Yet my own father doesn't know I write at all. This because I feel I am not good enough at it to show him yet.
Q            Are you married, dating, or single? If you’re married or dating; have you ever cheated on your spouse or significant other? If you’re single; do you like to play the field?
A   I am married. I am a lucky man my first wife was not a kind soul. But when you are young Pride leads you to marry for vain reasons. I lived to regret that later. Though I got a son from my first marriage that is the world to me. My second wife is in every way superior to me. She thinks she is lucky to have me. I think I am the lucky one. I am proud to say that even in my darkest hour and that day did come I never once cheated on my first wife and will never do so on my wife now. I think men need to wait till they are 30 to marry. This because they have enough memories for the rest of life. They can be true to their wives then. I never had a problem with monogamy. I was always proud to be married.
Q            Have you ever contemplated suicide? If so, why did you feel that was your only option?
A     Once I did . It lasted all of 15 minutes. I didn't think it was my only option . I went through the options in my mind and decided everyone of them was better than dying. And I could never leave my son alone to raise himself. I did suffer depression that swept over my soul during the darkest days of my divorce. I know it may seem silly for a man of 47 yrs to never have had his heart broke. But that was the case with me. I know it is not the American way to tell others the truth of your soul. And many men would never admit it. But this year my son in law took his life over depression. I see what happens to a man who holds his emotions in and denies them free reign
Q            Have you ever been in trouble in school? At work? At home?

A   Oh yeah lol. I am not a saint.  But I am trying to be a better man. No man can say he has lived at all and not caused a little trouble. So when my son does things I don't like I think of the wasteland i made of my youth and try to laugh it off.
Q            Did you have siblings growing up? If so, how many?
A   I have one older brother.
Q            Did you have siblings later in life? If so, how many and at what age did you get them? Were they adopted?
A   Nope. I had a sister and two brothers one older one younger
Q            Where do you get your inspiration?

A   I take my inspiration from the joys and sorrows of my life well lived. I have been a nomad of sorts. Raced harness hoses many years as the 6 generations of my family before me did. I have traveled a lot. What I have never had was security. I suppose my soul was set to roam.
Q            How do your approach your writing? Are more OCD? Plan everything out with outlines and what amounts to storyboards? Or do you just fly by the seat of your pants and work everything out as it comes?
A   I write the ending first usually. I try to set to words the lesson I learned that is the ending for me usually. I like to use quatrains 4 lines.I use different versions Some are ABAB some ABCB I always try to set the syllable counts in the beginning. Such as 8787 or 8888.Whatever feels right.
Q            Do you like horror movies? Comedy? Pick your poison.
A    I like dramas I love English mystery theaters.  I seem to know a little about everything .But not a lot about anything. I pick up on things others miss. I make assumptions based in fact. I guess I am always trying to make sense of everything
Q            Do you enjoy certain types of books, but like to write in another genre? If so, why?
A   AI love the Sherlock Holmes mysteries .And come to think of it I am very fond of Les Miserables. I have found a great writer here named David Lewis Paget. he and I write in similar form but of different things. I think his work is the best I ever read.
Q            What are you currently working on? Do you have any novels?
A   No I do not . I am working on a third book of poetry. I have a friend who wants to write a book on my experiences racing horses; however, I don't share that desire at the moment.
Q            Anything else that you would like to say before we end?
A   I think structure helps in poetry. It gives rhythm to a verse. In ancient Greece a man named Homer was the first to have his stories converted to text in western writing. his stories of Troy and the ancients were passed by word of mouth to him over a period of 500 years. The reason he could recite them word for word was that they were set in song rhyme and verse. It is the same reason we can remember musical lyrics but cant remember speeches. A different part of the brain is active with music rhythm and rhyme. That is why I like it best.
